Ernestine Noedel Jenkins, 94, recently of Oro Valley, AZ, passed away peacefully on Sept. 8, 2023. Born in Santa Fe, NM in 1929, Ernestine was most often referred to as Tina to her family and friends. Her parents Daniel O. Martinez and Luisita L. Martinez raised Tina and her brothers and sister in Santa Fe surrounded by aunts, uncles, many cousins, and friends. Her brothers, Isidro, Benjamin, Isaias, Daniel Jr., Remijio, and sister Marina preceded her in death. She was married to Louis G. Noedel in 1948 until his death in 1966. They lived in Albuquerque with their five children Connie Orrison (Mike), Jerry (Shorty), Richard, Doris Wood (David), and Anna Dannenbaum (Tom). A stepson, Van Jenkins, joined the family when Tina wed Edwin Jenkins in 1983. Tina and Ed resided in Albuquerque until Ed’s death in 2004. In 2014, Tina moved to Oro Valley, AZ to live with daughter Anna and son-in-law Tom. The focal point of Tina’s life was family, her parents, siblings and their spouses, and extended family. Later on, her children and their spouses, and later still her 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. How blessed are we all to have had her in our lives for so long.

A Funeral Mass for Tina will be held at 10 AM at Cristo Rey Church in Santa Fe, NM on Oct., 26th. Visitation will take place prior to the Mass from 9 to 10 AM with a reception following the Mass. Burial will take place at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe at 2:30.
