Personal note from Cathy, beloved wife of Ernie

We’ve had some people inquiring into more details about Ernie’s life as well services and or how they can help. The following is being written by Cathy. (This was written shortly after his passing.)

Ernie and I both did not want any public service when we discussed our lives in the past. I encourage any groups of his friends or relatives or any individuals to offer prayers in their own way such as a mass which some Catholics do automatically. Anything from your heart is going to be fine with all of us. The Minnesota people are going to be having a small celebration on Ernie’s birthday in August. Shortly thereafter Cathy’s siblings are having a reunion that has been planned for two years. Ernie has always enjoyed that so there will be a memorial service in the Black Hills area where the reunion is being held. We will share pictures from that but the gist is that we will show movie clips from our home videos picturing all of us and our visits through the years. It will be a fun hour of laughter and listening to some of Ernie’s own music.

Obituary

Ernie was named Ernest upon birth, August 10, 1944, in Mayville ND. He was the fifth of six children. His parents, Minnie & Anton Roller, farmed which Ernie loved. He would have been a farmer but had asthma around grain dust so he opted for a college degree. He went to Mayville College for his first two years and then went to UND where he graduated three years later with a BSEE. He would have …
