Ernie's obituary
Ernest "Ernie" Nettik, 89, of Helena, MT, peacefully passed away on November 27, 2023 surrounded by loved ones, after a difficult battle with [disease].
Ernie was born on November 30, 1933 to Edward and Verna Nettik in Dillon, Montana. After Ernie graduated from Beaverhead High School in 1952. After graduation, Ernie served in the Army for 2 years during the Korean war. After his return, Ernie met Mary Ellen Iverson in Dillon, Montana. They were married on December 12, 1955. This year they would have celebrated 68 Wonderful years together.
Ernie worked in the auto body repair business for 24 years. He then worked for Montana Mobile Homes, setting up and repairing mobil homes for 10. After that, Ernie worked at Warren School as a Custodian for 9-1/2 years. He was loved by the staff and especially the children. On October 30, 1998, the mayor proclaimed that day as "Ernie Nettik Day". Ernie was passionate about and loved what he did for a living. Ernie always said he loved every job he had. Ernie retired in [year of retirement] . While retired, Ernie had time to pursue his love of gardening, growing his roses, and building bird houses. He also enjoyed cruising around in their Mustang convertable.

Ernie is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen (Iverson) Nettik, Dog, Missie, Daughter Denise (Bill) Hayden, Son Dennis Nettik Simmons, 2 grand children, and 2 great grand children.
A graveside memorial service will be held December 15th at 11:00 AM. at Fort Harrison. Following the service, there will be a gathering for celebration of life at Light Covenant Church. 800 North Hoback.
