It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Erminda "Mindy" Velez Alicea, who left us on March 10, 2025. Born on February 19, 1942, Mindy was a beacon of warmth and wit throughout her 83 years. Her legacy of laughter and love will continue to inspire all who had the honor of knowing her.

Mindy is lovingly remembered by her sons, Martin, Arnaldo, and Javier; her grandkids, Vany, Martin JR, Tatiana, Ramon, Arnaldito, and Zabdiel; and her great grandkids, Isabella and Rumi. She instilled in them the wisdom, resilience, and grace that became hallmarks of her own life. She was a pillar of strength and a source of endless warmth, ever ready with a sharp and witty remark to lighten any situation.

Before her departure, Mindy positively impacted countless lives, touching hearts and lifting spirits with her compassionate nature and infectious humor. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered as a woman who embraced life with enthusiasm and celebrated every day with joy and gratitude.

A viewing will be held in Mindy's honor from March 20, 2025, at 6:00 PM to March 21, at 7:00 PM at Funeraria Avellanet in Sabana Grande. Family, friends, and loved ones are invited to pay their respects and share their treasured memories of Mindy.

The funeral service will take place on March 22, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Parroquia San Isidro Labrador in Sabana Grande. Here, we will gather to celebrate Mindy's remarkable life and the indelible mark she left on those around her.

In these moments of loss, we find solace in remembering Mindy's radiant spirit and the light she brought into the world. Let us honor her memory by living our lives with the same generosity, humor, and love that she embodied. Mindy's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
