Erline's obituary
Erline Josephine Miotke (Kolinski), born on December 16, 1931, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was embraced by the Lord on December 10, 2024, in her daughter’s home in Greenfield, just days shy of her 93rd birthday. She was the cherished only child of Frank and Mildred Kolinski.
In September 1951, Erline married the love of her life, James "Jim" Frank Miotke. Together, they shared 66 wonderful years of marriage until Jim's passing in 2016. Erline and Jim embraced life’s adventures, retiring to St. Germain, Wisconsin, at the age of 48 before spending many years in Bullhead City, Arizona. They spent time traveling to almost every national park during their many years together. In 2017, Erline returned to Greenfield, WI to be closer to family.
Erline was a devoted mother to her children: Alan (Brenda) Miotke, Janice (Glenn) Coss, Diane (Richard) Fraley, Linda (Allen) Schneider, Claire (Richard) LaValley, and Lisa Miotke and loved by 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Jim and their sons Brian and Carl.
A woman of deep faith and compassion, Erline was a dedicated Catholic who served her church in numerous ways over the years. Her creativity and generosity were boundless; she lovingly knitted hundreds of hats for the sick and homeless, crafted Christmas stockings for children and soldiers around the world, and sewed "Bags of Courage" for children battling cancer. Her hands were rarely idle as she quilted, needlepointed, knitted, and crocheted with care.
Erline also found joy in dancing and playing cards with friends and her husband. She enjoyed spending time with family and most recently her great grandchildren. She was a beautiful role model who touched countless lives with her kindness and selflessness.
Erline will be remembered with love by all who knew her. Family has been blessed with having many years with both Jim and Erline. May her memory bring comfort to those she leaves behind.
