I was saddened to hear about the loss of Erik. I met Erik during our first year of college and considered him an amazing friend during our four years at Knox. I lived four doors down the hall from Erik when I first met him. It didn’t take me long to realize that Erik was a kind soul, caring of others, and was someone that people could look up to. He would always put others first and always knew what to say to you to make you feel better when he knew you were down about something. Erik always remembered every detail of every conversation that you had with him and he could alway pick up from where you were the last time you talked to him. Erik, you will never be forgotten. Thanks for introducing me to new music, making me feel better about myself, and always being a warm friend. I am sure that I am speaking for a lot of people when I say that you will always be in our hearts and never forgotten.
Erik, you accomplished many things you set out to achieve in your short life. You lived a happy life that I am sure you were proud of. A life you lived on your own terms.  Your life touched so many along the way. Those that were lucky enough to know you will never forget your smile, quick wit, and personality. May your family find peace. RIP Friend

So sorry for the loss of Erik. He left a mark on all who were lucky enough to have crossed paths with him.

Your family and friends are in my prayers!

My mighty Viking brother, I always appreciated your advice and perspective. Our late nights, excursions and conversations helped shape perspectives and objectives not fully formed at the time but now essential to who I am. I am sorry we didn't get to hang out more in recent years between time changes and geography but know that you are in Valhalla. Safe travels in the beyond.
I am so thankful I got to know him. He was truly an amazing person inside and out. We will all miss you terribly Erik……. Until we meet again❣️
Erik’s passing was a shock.  He was strong physical, mentally, and emotionally.  Yet vulnerable, gentle, and helpful, with the most genuine laugh that made his eyes twinkle like diamonds.  He was always there for anyone who needed him, and many of us did.  I will miss him, and hope that some way, somehow, in Valhalla, heaven, or in an alternate universe where things make more sense, I will get to see and hear him again.
I am really sad to hear about the loss of Erik. He was a fiercely passionate person, wicked smart, and with a spirit that refused to be contained.  The loss to his family and friends is difficult to imagine. I’m glad to have known him. Wishing you all comfort in your grief, and eventually some peace.
