I’ve know Erick all my life since Selby Lane Elementary School, Kennedy Middle School, and Woodside High School. Erick was always funny and made you laugh whenever you’re around him. Erick was the same age as myself both started in the same Kindergarten class we would play that long hose tube with like a cone at the end of it and talk through it, that was behind Mrs. Allens class, we also played on the swings, played Tetherball, played Football, jumping of the swings and did other kid stuff growing up in elementary school. It’s true Erick was always funny from the start, I remember in third grade class I was looking outside of the classroom looking at the trees outside and he told me “Hey Ednon, how’s those babes in the tree look like?” I started laughing so hard, because everybody didn’t notice me looking out, only Erick did. It caught me off guard but that was Erick with his jokes that will bring a smile to your face. Another funny moment with Erick; we had in one of our classes together in Selby Lane was when a man who had throat cancer he was a speaker, who was using a vocal microphone at the end of the presentation, the man let Erick use his vocal microphone and starts talking in it saying “Next” (back in the Nineties it was a cool word to say) he said a lot of things I can’t remember most of it, but everybody in the class started laughing, he was definitely the person who can uplift any serious situation and bring that warmth and laughter to any situation. I lived close by from where the Lindbergs lived, most of the time my mother would walk me, Shon, Selma, and Sibrina to Chelsea Way, when we walked near Ericks house his pops was always working on cars while Erick was playing with a remote control car, or performing stunts on his bike, he would also make his own car as I’ve seen him tweek the vehicle near his garage or on the lawn. Most of the Selby kids lived near that same Atherwood community; Joanne Watkins, Richmond McPherson, Vanessa, Jeff, and Eduardo and our family. Erick attended Kennedy and Woodside High School as did myself and family members, I remember in 1999 for our senior year Erick didn’t attend Woodside High School, we all missed Erick as he didn’t attend the whole school year it seemed, he was present for Woodside High School graduation. Throughout the years I’ve seen Erick throughout Redwood City, his favorite spot is the Baskin Robins and Prima Deli at Rosevelt Plaza, I would see him many times on Woodside Road and honk at him and throw the peace sign in the air every time I see Erick, one time I was at stop and go traffic on Woodside Road leading up to Highway 280 and we were back to back talking while we were driving him in his truck and in my BMW 535i. My mother was telling me a couple of days before learning of Ericks death, she saw him at Baskin Robbin’s and was asking how I was doing? Erick was a thoughtful, funny, and great person to be around, I will truly miss him. Too all of Ericks friends and family members that I saw at his Celebration of Life at Saint Pius I wish you find peace and comfort, we all want to live long, but we should cherish every interaction and moment. I wanted to thank specifically Ericks Family for arranging The Harrys Hofbrau reception. For all my Selby Lane, Kennedy Middle School and Woodside High School friends it was nice seeing you. Lastly I pray and hope Erick has found peace in his soul and now he’s reunited with Pops, I’m sure he’s playing with a RC up in Heaven. ⚱️🏈🏂🚴‍♂️🥇🛻

Love Always ❤️ 💯♾️,

Ednon (Ed)(Eddie) Khan

I have known Erick for a long time. We went to school together at selby lane school and I met him in kindergarten and all the way through Kennedy middle school I remember going to his house and he would be outside playing with his custom RC cars around the street and sometimes other friends of ours from selby would be out there too. I remember he loved his dad a lot and he was an awesome dad and always made us laugh. I really miss you dude my heart was broken when I found out it was you. And I’m sure you are up there riding your dirt bike like crazy hahahahaha. I’m glad that I knew you and I’ll always remember when we hung out at school and at you dad’s house. Rest easy dude I’ll see you again someday

Erick, aka E1, as many of us grew up knowing him - is an amazing human who touched so many lives. He will be deeply missed. I am so thankful for the time we had growing up together. Sending positive vibes and prayers to his mother during this difficult time. My deepest condolences. May you find peace in knowing Erick was loved and will be remembered by so many. Rest in paradise!
