Erica's obituary
On Friday, October 21st, 2022, Erica Doreen Garcia, age 45, passed away peacefully in her sleep. She was a beloved Grandmother, Mother, Sister and Daughter. Her family is shocked and heartbroken over her passing.
Erica was born on May 20, 1977 in Fresno, California, to her parents, John and Claudia Garcia. She instantly became the center of attention to her two older brothers, Aaron and Marc, who, with open arms, welcomed their baby sister into their lives. She later was given a younger brother named Bradley. At home, she was also welcomed by two very happy maternal grandparents, Claude and Amada Newell. And her paternal grandparents, Ramiro and Ophelia Garcia, were also overcome with joy as they too welcomed their first granddaughter.
Erica was a very happy child, raised in a family that truly loved her. She learned how to love at a very young age and it became a defining quality she carried throughout her life. And being raised by a family with a great sense of humor helped establish another defining characteristic of Erica, her very own sense of humor.
As she grew up, Erica acquired many friends through the years. She was always making people laugh with her quick wit. She became known as Giggles because of that and her very contagious laugh as well.
Erica brought three incredibly amazing children into this world, Matthew, Amanda, and Angelina. She loved them dearly. In the last few years, Erica became a Grandmother to three beautiful baby boys, Adrian, Fabian and Greyson. She was never more prouder in her life than when she became a Grandma. She would dote any chance she had about them. It brought a joy she never experienced to watch them grow in the short time she had with them.
Erica was always outgoing and was a bit of a rebel. After the passing of her beloved mother, Claudia in 2012, she really grew up and made some changes in her life, all for the better. She took upon herself to become the matriarch that was voided by the passing of her mother. She became the one to worry about everyone, to take care of her father, John, as he got older and learned to appreciate life.
She would also like to learn new things. Via the internet, she would look up things that cane to mind and then share the new found knowledge with others.
She loved to fill her friends hearts with laughter. So many people have stated that she was one of the funniest people they knew. She would have an entire room of people uncontrollably laughing, finishing each joke with her signature "ehh!!!" And for that, she was loved by her friends, who are very heartbroken in their own right.
It's still hard to comprehend that she is gone. And tears are still shed for her every day. Our hopes is that she knew the magnitude of love her family and friends had for her. And she will truly be missed by many. And that's not an "ehh!".
