Eric's obituary
Dr. Eric Seth Shapiro, DC
Dr. Eric Seth Shapiro, 53, of Clyde, North Carolina, passed away on July 3, 2024. Born on January 29, 1971, in Roanoke, Virginia, Eric was a beloved husband, father, and renowned chiropractor.
Eric dedicated his life to the well-being of others. Known for his exceptional skills, he profoundly impacted thousands of lives, earning the highest regard from his dear patients. His thriving practice in Franklin, NC, was a testament to his dedication and expertise in his field.
Eric’s educational journey began with a Bachelor's in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina Wilmington in 1991. He furthered his education with an MBA from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, and later earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic from Western States University in Portland, Oregon, in 1996.
Eric became a born-again Christian in his late twenties. However, he struggled against his flesh for the next 20+ years. It wasn’t until he discovered teaching of the Bible believers doctrine that slowly he became a man with a different nature. He was taught how to rightly divide the Word of God, and everything changed for him. The Bible no longer appeared to have unexplainable contradictions, which had diminished his hunger for consuming God's word. Once he was able to reconcile, the Bible came to life, and he was powerfully drawn to taking it all in. He would sit for hours listening and taking notes on messages from Bible-believing pastors. It was truly inspiring to watch this happen, and he wanted to share it with every single person he met. He began leading a Bible study once a week in Franklin, North Carolina, with several of his dedicated patients who hunger and thirst for the word of God.
Though he still wrestled with his carnal nature, Eric became a new man filled with generosity, patience, humility, empathy, and more. His transformation was a testament to his faith and dedication to living a life aligned with God's teachings.
He is survived by his loving wife, Beth Shapiro, of Clyde, NC; his children, Brennan and Kylee Shapiro of Raleigh, NC; his son, Adam Shapiro of Whispering Pines, NC; his daughter, Peyton Shapiro of Clyde, NC; and his three stepchildren, Isaac, Judah, and Lydia Lingerfelt of Clyde, NC.
He is also survived by his older brother, Jonathan Shapiro & wife Lisa Marie, and niece, Ava Shapiro of Charlotte, NC; father, Gordon Shapiro & wife Sandy of Roanoke, VA; stepbrother, Drayton Reynolds & wife Gabrielle, and their two sons, Brooks and Hampton of Mount Pleasant, SC; and stepsister, Lyndsey Reynolds of Roanoke, VA.

Eric's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
