Eric was a successful Criminal Attorney  whose life was cut short on October 5th, 2022 at the age of 40.  He was a father to 2 sons, Derrick and Aidan, husband to Tabitha Burke-Schiffhauer, and beloved son of Jerry and Rene Schiffhauer.

Eric grew up and college in the mountains of North Carolina. Graduating from Mars Hill University. He always loved his birthplace of Florida and returned to complete his Law Degree and to study education. Eric enjoyed his time educating and helping children while teaching at Varsity Middle School in Lehigh Acres, Florida. He was a hard worker who was consistently on Dean's lists and honor societies. After passing the Florida Bar on the first try, he went on to have a successful law career as an Assistant State Attorney and Criminal Prosecutor and was actively practicing law in Orlando, FL .  His passion for law was evident in his ability to talk to you for hours about interesting legal facts. He also enjoyed traveling, woodworking, brewing his own beer and hiking. He will be greatly missed.
