Eric Daniel Medina, 62, of Peoria, IL, passed away on February 16, 2024, after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Born on April 1, 1961, in Peoria, Eric was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend. He was known for his kindness, humor, and generosity. He was a true & loyal friend, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew him. If you were his friend, it was for a lifetime.

Eric's career in construction was a testament to his hard work and dedication. He worked side-by-side with his father for many years learning the construction trade. His commitment to his craft led him to a fulfilling role as a construction laborer during his life. Menard's was his current employer up to his passing, where he found joy in his work and seeing his co-workers daily.

Outside of work, Eric's true happiness came from his beloved dogs, Savanah and Honey. He cherished spending time with them at the lake or park, treating them like his own children.

Eric will be deeply missed by his surviving family members: sister Greta J. Medina Kotz, brother-in-law Jason Kotz, nephews Adam C. Medina (spouse Sara Brooks Medina) and Vaughn R. White. He was preceded in death by his father Daniel R. Medina, mother Donna J. Medina, and sister Mary Medina King.

A celebration of Eric's life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to PCAPS Animal Shelter, SAMS Animal Rescue, or an Animal Rescue of your choice.

Illini Cremation of Peoria is assisting the family with funeral arrangements. Our hearts go out to all who knew and loved Eric during this difficult time. He will be remembered for his warmth, loyalty, and love for his family, friends, and furry companions.
