Eric and I joined the Laguna Beach Lifeguard Force on the same day back in 1961. We had grown up on the beach together and we swam close together to qualify for the Force. It was a very difficult cold swim but we kept encouraging each other and we finally made it. We guarded at Crescent together for years and became very close. He was simply one of the finest men I have ever known. His quiet, understated sense of competence and duty represented an ideal to which we all aspired.
We were lifeguards in Laguna and fellow Naval aviators aboard the carrier America. I am grateful we were able to reconnect. Fair winds and following seas.
Eric was a great friend, and he will be greatly missed. We flew combat missions together, and he was always there, providing mutual support. We maintained our friendship during the intervening 57 years. May God allow Eric to fly with the Angels. Rest in Peace, my dear friend.
Eric was my navy mentor and friend for nearly 40 years. A caring man, devoted husband, and Navy combat veteran! Fair winds and following seas my friend. You are loved and will be missed. God bless the Jensen family!
Sincere condolences to family and friends. Please lean on the Most High, the Father of tender mercies and the God of all comfort who comforts us in all our trials. (2 Cor 1:3) God understands your pain and will provide the comfort you need. Do not hesitate to pour out your heart to Him in prayer.
