Mr. Eric Dela Cruz, 70 years old of Salem, OR, passed away on January 25, 2023 peacefully in his sleep with his loving family at his bedside. 

Eric was born on December 28th 1952 to Mary Jose and Cornelio Dela Cruz. After graduating from Waimea high school in 1970. he went on to study carpentry at Kauai community college .  After graduation, he landed his first job as a bus boy  for Kauai Surf Coffee shop  for a year. In 1972  he met Bonnie Ann and they wed in 1975. Had 2 girls Erica and Maka and raised their family on Maui.

 Eric was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, He was unendingly proud of his family and always tried his best to support them.


Eric was also a passionate cook and could often be found on the golf course when he wasn’t at home.


Anyone who knew Eric knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Eric was predeceased by his mother Mary, father Cornelio and sister Elenita. He is survived by his wife Bonnie and two daughters Erica and Maka. The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Bonnie Ann Dela Cruz.
