Obituary for Eric Corbyn

February 26, 1946 - January 1, 2025

Eric Corbyn, age 78, passed away on January 1, 2025 at his home in Santa Fe, NM. Born in Fort Worth on February 26, 1946, Eric graduated from Arlington Heights High School before attending West Texas State University, where he served as President of Kappa Alpha fraternity.

Eric was a devoted husband to Diane Morrow, whom he married on October 25, 1975, in the WT chapel. They recently celebrated 49 years of marriage. Eric was also a loving and doting father to his daughter, Alex, who resides in Austin.

Eric was the successful and proud owner of Corbyn's Clothing, where he built strong, lasting relationships with his customers and employees, whom he considered family. He had a passion for golf, poker, and writing — including poems, novels, and songs — and taking long walks with his dogs. Being the extroverted and outgoing man he was, he also never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone and everyone at any given time.

Eric is survived by his wife, Diane; daughter, Alex; and many dear friends and loved ones. A celebration of Eric’s life will be held on January 25, 2025, with further details to be announced soon. All those who loved him are invited to share their memories and honor his legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Rocky Mountain Cocker Rescue or Amarillo's Animal Rescue Shelter in Eric’s memory.
