Eric's obituary

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Eric Auerbach, who left us on August 23, 2023. Eric was born on March 10, 1935, and in his 88 years, he lived a life full of accomplishments, adventures, and wisdom.  On his final days, he was with his son, Steven, his son-in-law, Mark, and his faithful dog, Parker, sharing stories right to the last moments.

Eric was very committed to his family. He was a husband for over 60 years married to his wife Barbara Biggs Auerbach, demonstrating a level of dedication that many aspire to in their relationships.   He was a father for 57 years sharing his words of wisdom, usually through funny emails.  Eric expressed pride and joy in his son, Steven Auerbach, and son-in-law, Mark Scofield.  His legacy in their lives and the lives of those who loved him will be remembered forever.

Eric was a man of intellect, holding a masters degree in Chemical Engineering. He was a part of something greater than himself as he contributed to the development of the cooling system for one of the first NASA space suits, a milestone that will be remembered.

Beyond his professional achievements, Eric was a man of diverse interests and talents. He had a passion for ballroom dancing, a mastery of Aikido, and a love for fitness and cross-country skiing. He always liked to share his lessons and insights from these disciplines, enriching the lives of those around him.  He also was known to be very candid in his feedback on how to improve, especially in dancing.

In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established to continue Eric's legacy of compassion and care for his passion of English Springer Spaniels. Donations can be made to the English Springer Rescue America at the following URL: https://everloved.com/life-of….

May Eric's soul rest in peace, and his life be a reminder of the beauty of dedication, curiosity, and heartfelt compassion.
