Background
St. Jude Children's Research Hospital was very near and dear to my father. A longtime sponsor, he made an annual donation year after year without fail into his retirement age, generously contributing as much as he could spare even if it meant giving up something for himself.
My stepmother and I are forever indebted to the staff at Hudson Valley Hospice for all of the care, support, and guidance they provide their patients as well as caregivers. Thanks to their selfless and compassionate service, we were given the gift of caring for my father at home and keeping him as comfortable as possible in his final days.
