Rick attended Coldwell Elementary School and graduated from Coronado High School in 1970. He attended UTEP but left school and moved to Lake Tahoe and learned the culinary arts as a Sioux Chef at Harvey's in Nevada. He enjoyed skiing and cycling while he was there and also played semi-pro football. He returned to El Paso in the 1980's to complete his bachelors in Business Administration at UTEP. His brother Nicolas Perez of Houston, has graciously taken over the project.
Rick enjoyed playing golf, traveling, and spending time with his friends and family. He was known for his generosity and loyalty. He was an avid fan of the UTEP basketball and football teams. He will be missed by his friends and family as well as all the people he has helped.
