I learned to duck when he was trying to score. During a scrimmage match, he kicked the ball right in my head and knocked me out cold. Was super nice about it afterwards, and we used to joke about it all the time.

Carmen, William, Guillermo, Moses, Vanessa — I love you all, and my thoughts have been with you since I learned of Emmanuel’s passing.

I will always remember him and our memories together. From Emmanuel showing me his wrestling action figure collection when I came over for the first time, to all those countless summer nights in Burlison, to recent celebrations where I am so grateful to have seen him one more time. I wish there were more opportunities, more moments, and more perspective when I took these times for granted.

May he rest in peace, and may you find comfort in this incredibly difficult time.

Prayers of strength go out to all family and friends. E loved everyone! And we know if he could still be here he would be! He loved his familia and was so proud of who he was and where he was from!!!! Always smiling!!!! Always out for fun and a good time!!!
