When Emmalynn was born, she came into the world screaming and making herself known. The nurses commented that although she only weighed 3 pounds, 3 ounces, she thought she was an 8 pounder. She had grown plenty of hair in utero (deciding apparently that she wanted a hairdo rather than growing much of anything else). And we would often catch her playing with her hair, grabbing for it. She was tiny but mighty, fearfully and perfectly formed. She had opinions about things (like whether she wanted the sunglasses for the bilirubin lights--she did not) and made those opinions known. She also loved to be held, and rarely wasn't in someone's arms. There were so many arms to hold her and love her, why be anywhere else? For Emmalynn was adored and LOVED every minute of her 33 days here on earth. She is still loved. Although she was only here with us for 33 days, she will be in our hearts always and one day we will see her again in heaven.
