Emma's obituary

Emma Jean Martin (Carrawell) moved into her heavenly mansion on September 21, 2023 at the age of 70. She was born on June 11, 1953 to the late Bobby Gene Ridge and Zelia Leona Armstrong; and was later adopted by her paternal grandmother, Mrs. Cupp.

Emma accepted Christ as her personal Savior as a young adult and used every opportunity she had to to share her faith with others. During her final years, she was a faithful worshipper at True Holiness Church in Collierville, TN. She was a preschool teacher for over 30 years and was well known for her natural ability to connect with children and her genuine love for each of them. After several years of retirement, she found a way to continue serving her community by volunteering at the Neighborhood Christian Center in Memphis, TN.

Emma leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Ronald Carrawell; three daughters: Melissa Lewis, Christi Lewis (Charles), Classie Falls (Joe Sr.) and one bonus son, Jason Carrawell; ten grandchildren: Antonio Morales, Della Lewis, Trey Lewis, Cailyn Rape, Marc Lewis, Colton Lewis, Joseph Lewis, Joe Falls Jr., Tyrese Falls, and Jasmine Falls; her siblings Sherman Humphrey (Sandy), Linda Brooks (Ray), Sheila McCarty, Sharon Bristol, Les Humphrey (Karen); and a host of nieces, nephews, and loved ones. Preceding her in death is a son in law, Alton Lewis, and bonus son, Damon Carrawell.

She will remain forever in our hearts.

A memorial ceremony will be held to honor Emma's life and legacy at 2pm on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at True Holiness Church located at 337 Halley St., Collierville, TN 38017.

In this time of sorrow, we extend our deepest condolences to Emma's family. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory bring solace to those who loved her.
