Emily's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Emily McCormick on August 6, 2025. Born on January 16, 1935, Emily lived a life filled with kindness, generosity, and caring. She touched the lives of everyone around her with her warmth and wisdom.
Emily's lessons were simple yet profound. She believed in the importance of always being prepared. This principle guided her life, enabling her to navigate the ups and downs with grace and resilience. It's a lesson she imparted to her family and friends, shaping their lives in countless ways.
Emily had an adventurous spirit, which led her to remarkable accomplishments. She was a champion at lawn bowling and possessed an uncanny knack for the craps table. The thrill of the game and her infectious laughter will be fondly remembered by all who were lucky enough to have shared these moments with her.
Nevertheless, her legacy stretches far beyond personal achievements. Emily was a mother figure not just to her own daughter but also to her two stepsons, whom she gracefully accepted as her own. Emily's deep sense of love and inclusion transformed their lives, creating a tight-knit family that extended to her six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Emily is survived by her daughter and step sons Jim & Jerry McCormick. Her love, laughter and teachings live on in her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They are testament to a life well-lived, a life focused on family and love.
A reception to honor and celebrate Emily's life will be held on September 5, 2025, at 5:00 PM at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery & Mortuary. Those who knew Emily are invited to join us in remembering a remarkable woman whose heart was as big as her smile.
Emily McCormick made this world a better place. She will be dearly missed, but her legacy will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
