Emily DeLaTorre (nee Szarmowicz), age 83, passed away on Feb. 11 surrounded by her family. Emily was the devoted wife of Antonio DeLaTorre; beloved mother of Helen (Jack) Montgomery; Barbara (Robert Paul) Blacharczyk; and Elizabeth (William) Hintch; loving grandmother of Mateo Hintch; and dear sister of Henry (Agnes “Pat”) Szarmowicz. Emily was well known in the Northbrook community as a manager at Northbrook True Value (Northbrook Ace Hardware). She enjoyed the relationships she built with her customers and coworkers. A memorial service to celebrate her life was held at Schram Memorial Chapel, 1799 Patriot Blvd., Glenview, IL, Saturday, April 28, 10:30 a.m.
