Emilia's obituary
Emilia Cristina lived a full life as devoted mother, career woman and entrepreneur and was admired for her perseverance, drive and meticulous organizational skills.
She moved to Greater New Orleans in 1994 , where she became an active member of the community. She worked at Ochsner Kenner Hospital and Americare.
She volunteered her culinary skills with various red rice and beans fundraisers For the National Kidney Foundation. Upon retirement, she volunteered with the Hispanic Apostolate.
She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, knitting, playing cards, getting the latest technology, cooking, keeping in touch with relatives and friends back in Colombia, and making many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Fabiola & Jesus Uribe. She is survived by her son David Parra (Marisol), two brothers, Luis (Audrea), Hernan (Betty), and three sisters Anamaria (Romulo), Clara (Alberto), Martha (Winston), and her grandson David, Jr.
