Emery's obituary

Emery A. Harvey was born on June 30, 1951, to Theodis R. Harvey Jr. and Elsie M. Harvey. From the very beginning, Emery had a spirit all his own.

As a child, he was determined and full of personality. Family stories tell of him sneaking off to school with his older brother because he was so eager to learn — only to later decide school wasn’t quite as exciting once it was required. That independent streak would follow him throughout his life. Emery grew into a strong-willed young man who tested boundaries and lived boldly.

He attended Angelina College, where he earned his Associate’s degree, and later built a career with Buck Creek Co., where he eventually retired. Emery had a deep interest in welding and woodworking — skilled trades that reflected his hands-on nature and ability to build and create.

Emery lived life on his own terms. His journey was uniquely his — marked by resilience, lessons learned, and a legacy woven into the fabric of his family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodis R. Harvey Jr. and Elsie M. Harvey; and his siblings, Brian C. Harvey and Theodis R. Harvey III.

He leaves behind his son, Brandon J. Bossette; his siblings, James K. Harvey and Anita L. McBride; his longtime companion, Muriel, whose steadfast presence over the years meant more than words can express; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will remember his strength, his stories, and his unmistakable personality.
