Emersyn's obituary
Although a too-short life, Emersyn’s story starts long before her birth. She was a baby deeply prayed for, and wanted in her family of eight. The Lord fulfilled her mothers prayers, and started their family on a new journey, one to be believed in aiding Emersyn's life, as it provided the medical support she would not have had in Idaho.
During the time of discovering Emersyn’s pregnancy, the family had the opportunity for new adventures in Texas. Before leaving their home state of Idaho, Emersyn had a twenty week anatomy scan that was not able to be completed as Emersyn was measuring behind. After moving to Texas, and getting established, Emersyn had a follow up scan, which led to more questions. Ultimately, an amnio was performed and Emersyn was diagnosed with Trisomy 18, otherwise known as Edwards Syndrome.
Regardless of her diagnosis, Emersyn was strong from the very start. Constantly kicking away in the womb and letting her mother know how strong she was. Emersyn made her arrival into this world, on November 25th, 2025, three weeks early. She was 3lbs 9.7 oz, and only 16 ¼ in long. She was so tiny, but already defied so many odds stacked against her. Emersyn Hope was a fighter.
After spending seventy- seven days in the NICU, she graduated and joined her five siblings at home. From there, she enjoyed her time with her siblings, snuggling with everyone, pulling out her NG tube multiple times, finding her voice and cooing to anyone who would listen. Everyone who met Emersyn said she was such a light and joy in this world. Her entire care team for her diagnosis had always said she didn’t look like a typical baby who had Trisomy 18, she was doing so well.
Then, on April 27th, 2026, she unfortunately passed away, three days after turning five months.
Emersyn will be remembered by her parents; Christopher and Heather Johnson. Her siblings; Nicole (23) and her husband Cameron (26), Aramis (15), Krista (12), Scarlett (10), Caspian (6) and Quintin (3). She will also be remembered by her unborn nephew, Hudson.
Emersyn will be forever loved and missed. We are grateful she is fully healed and at peace in the arms of Jesus.
