Elvin Jerome Carter was born June 14th, 1978 to Deborah Carter and Ennis Lee Carter Sr. Ennis Sr. preceded him in death in April 1981.

JC, as he is so loving known, was a proud graduate of the class of 1996 from Cooley High School in Detroit, MI. JC joined the General Motors (GM) family in 1998. During his tenure at GM, JC met Michelle Lundy Carter and soon made her his wife and started a family with she and her son Jordan. To complete their union, JC and Michelle had one daughter, Jayla Michelle Carter, who JC loving called his Babygirl. Michelle departed this life in October 2012.

Elvin (Jay) was full of life with an infectious laugh. His style was second to none. JC enjoyed attending sports and other events. However, his favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends. He was a self-proclaimed grill master and dared you to say otherwise! JC famously described himself as “Out the way Jay”. This simply meant that he stayed on his own path and out the way of others.

JC leaves to cherish his memories, his Mother: Deborah Carter (Mr. Mack); Daughter: Jayla Carter; Bonus Son: Jordan Lundy; Brothers: DeGerald Barnett, Ennis Carter Jr. and Eric Carter (Lloryn); Sisters: Eugenia Jones-Killian (David) and E’Tonya Carter. Nieces and Nephews: D’Juan, Jasmine, Day’on, Ennis lll, Mia, Eric Jr, Se’Va, Josiah, A’Nori, Kiara, Taylor, Terrin, Tiayon, Orlando, DeGerald Jr. and Deangelo. Significant other Tanesha Perry; Bonus Daughters: Niyah and Rian (Sugarcookie); Four legged son Jax (Junior)His Best Friend Greg, and a host of family and friends.
