Elsie's obituary
Elsie Louise 'Tootsie' Popp Cash, affectionately known as Tootsie but who preferred Elsie, passed away peacefully on August 22nd, 2023. Born on September 8th, 1933, Elsie's life was filled with joy, fun, and ceaseless activity. She was a spirited, fun-loving woman whose infectious silliness brought joy to everyone around her.
She leaves behind her children, Morlene Louise McBee Cummings, William Herbert 'Bill' McBee (Leslie), and Cindy Lynn McBee Burbanks (Byron). Her son Johnathon Walter Masterson Jr., her parents Alfred Adam and Margaret Louise Sanders Popp, and her siblings Theodore Carol F., David Stanley, Alfred William, Ruth Antonia Sosbee, and Rose Marie Wood Popp, all preceded her in death. The love and care she showered on them mirrored the warmth and tenderness she felt for babies and her cherished cats.
Elsie found joy in simple pleasures. She spent many an afternoon engrossed in solitaire, puzzles, and other games. An avid reader, she discovered adventure and excitement within the pages of numerous books. She loved the outdoors, whether she was diligently tending to her garden or sitting with a fishing pole, basking in nature's serenity.
Elsie's most enduring life lesson for her loved ones was perhaps her belief in the importance of not taking life too seriously. She lived this philosophy daily, inspiring those around her to enjoy life's vibrancy with a joyful heart and a bright spirit.
Elsie's absence will be profoundly felt by her family, friends, and all who were touched by her life. Her dynamic personality, her zest for life, and her charming idiosyncrasies will be cherished in memory by everyone. As we say goodbye, we honor her remarkable life and the joy and love she shared with us.
