Elroy's obituary
Elroy Hilliard
October 26, 1955 – October 6, 2023
Elroy Hilliard, 67, passed away on October 6, 2023 in Killeen, Texas with family by his side. He was born the oldest of six children to Leslie and Peggy Hilliard in Muskegon, Michigan on October 26, 1955. He graduated from Reeths Puffer High School in 1974 and married the love of his life, Elizabeth Archambault that summer. Together they raised four children.
Elroy was a lover of sports, roller coasters, horror films and jazz music. In his early years, he enjoyed playing racquetball, softball, golf, and billiards. He enjoyed passionate conversations about politics, sports, music, and life’s lessons. He dedicated 20 years of hard work to Walmart Inc., and his work ethic was resolute. He was clear that integrity, loyalty, passion, and love for God, over popularity, salary and titles were integral to success and happiness in life. He lived it and instilled it in his children. His grandchildren brightened his days and being a Papa/PawPaw came naturally. His humor and extraordinary stories, which were always accompanied by an endless supply of dum dum lollipops, kept them smiling and giggling.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth, their children Elysse(Victor), Ellis(Rashel), Elliot(Amanda) and Elijah. His grandchildren, El’Liyah, Olivia, Elena, Elon, Elias, Elliette, KaVon and JaCori. His mother Peggy Watkins and mother in law Mae Harris. Brothers Leslie “Junebug” Hilliard, Jr., and Keven Hilliard and sisters Melonee (David) Oakes and Waneva Hilliard. Brother in law David Archambault and sister in law Connie(Dennis) Patterson. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
He joins his father Les and brother Kalvin in the Kingdom Heaven.
