Lisa's obituary
Lisa was born on February 16, 1939 in Manila, Philippines to the late Jordan Discaya and Luisa Arceo. She was born into a large Catholic family of seven. With her passing she will join her deceased siblings Ferminia Discaya Soquiño and Estrella Discaya Kincaid in a better place and her memories will live on in her brother Antonio Arceo Discaya, and sisters Isabelita Discaya Ner, Jordanita Discaya Relucio, and Clarita Discaya.
As a mother, Lisa continued the tradition of large Catholic families with partner Benjamin Crisostomo Corpuz. Her loving soul and indelible presence will forever be celebrated by their children Maria Luisa Maynette Corpus DiMauro, Jordan Discaya Corpus, Jo-Anne Marie Corpus Shoppel, Jhondanie Corpus, Jonathan Corpus-Dimacali, Jacqueline Corpus Smith, and Joseph Benjamin Corpus Jr. III.
With her adventurous spirit, Lisa could always be found on some enviable trip or vacation. And between her large family and five late husbands— Benjamin Crisostomo Corpus, James Kincaid, Roy Smith, George Horne and Dean Agee— she was never short of companionship. As social as she was petite, Lisa loved to entertain. She never missed a chance to gather with friends and family, even when they weren’t her own!
Lisa’s huge heart and gregarious nature touched the lives of many. She will be remembered by her grandchildren Kimberly Casie Smith, Katrina Tyler Smith, Kent Joshier T. Dimacali, Ira Nae Joshia T. Dimacali, and Aiden Shoppel, as a loving grandmother, avid reader of any and ALL literature, skilled pianist, connoisseur of horror movies, and the cool grandma always busting out the best moves on the dance floor.
In the last few years, Lisa’s memory loss began to get the best of her but her trademark Filipino stubbornness, unquenchable appetite for food, and love of karaoke were present to the end. Lisa was loved by many and she will be greatly missed by countless friends, family and dance partners. Rest in peace Lola.
