Macon, Georgia - Ellene J. Goins, 83 of Macon, Georgia passed away peacefully on Monday, January 25, 2021 at her home. Graveside Services will be held 1PM Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Swift Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Born February 3, 1937, she is predeceased by her parents, Marion J. Rose and Alma R. Robinson; her beloved grandmother, Clara Flagg Orange-Jones (Ma); and her cherished twin sister, Willene J. Bivins.
Ellene was a faithful member of the Swift Creek Missionary Baptist Church for over 75 years where she last served as Madam Chairman of the Trustee Board. She was a retiree of both the State of Georgia and the Bibb County Public School System. She especially loved driving her school bus as well as, the children she transported.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories a daughter, Althea Shirlene Wooden of McDonough, Georgia; a grandson, Jonathan Wooden of Albuquerque, New Mexico; a granddaughter, Jene' Wooden of McDonough, Georgia; a great granddaughter, River Wesli Privett of Apache Junction, Arizona; two sisters; Mary Ross Russell of Columbus, Georgia and Ramona Robinson of Stockbridge, Georgia; a brother, Walter Robinson, Jr., of McDonough, Georgia; ex-husband, Ernest C. Goins of Macon, Georgia; three devoted cousins; Rev. Paul Collins of Macon, Georgia; Clara King of Macon, Georgia and George Orange, III of Andover, Ohio; three dearly beloved and devoted caregivers; Sabrina Y. Lowe, Sonia Collier and Emma Powell all of Macon, Georgia; two devoted friends; Rosland Love and Chris Johnson, both of Macon, Georgia; as well as, a host of other relatives, friends and loved ones.
Arrangements entrusted to Jones Brothers Eastlawn Mortuary. The family respectfully requests any monetary donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Ellene's memory.
Public Viewing will be held Friday, February 5, 2021 from 2PM until 3PM ONLY. SOCIAL DISTANCING WILL BE MANDATORY AND FACE MASKS ARE REQUIRED.
Jones Brothers Mortuary has charge of arrangements.
