Ellen Rinehart, 70, of Harrison, Arkansas passed away peacefully on April 15, 2022, surrounded by her family and loved ones. Ellen grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, with her family across from Drake University. She worked at many different jobs over the course of her life, and when asked she would state, "raising her three children was the best job she had. She left teaching to raise her children, and a few "adopted" ones as well. She enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, and many other things. Ellen will be dearly missed and always remembered.

Ellen was predeceased by her father Clifford Eugene Rinehart; and her sister, Sally Joe Stark (Rinehart). She is survived by her three children, Jennifer Annaliis Canty of Virginia; Matthew Luis Abrego of California; Andrew Nichlas of Arkansas; and her former husband Luis Lara of California. She is also survived by her brother Michael Bruce of Iowa; and her mother Geraldine Healy of Iowa.

Ellen led an interesting life and had many stories to tell you. Some you had to just shake your head; others, were life lessons. She believed that, through her father's teachings, you only made a mistake if you did not learn from it. Ellen throughout the years "adopted" many of her children's friends and welcomed them with open arms. Ellen requested a celebration of life be held in her honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. We request all of Ellen’s loved ones to join us in celebrating their beautiful life at Orange Township Cemetery, 1328 Dogwood Ave. Coon Rapids, IA on August 6, 2022, at 11:00 or TBD. 

There will be a small reception to be held at whatever restaurant will hold her family and friends.
