Ella's obituary
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Ella Walton, who left us peacefully on February 1, 2026. Born on July 13, 1930, Ella led a rich and fulfilling life that touched the lives of many.
She leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her daughters Lois Russell, her son M. Keith Walton, and her precious grandchildren Dennis Lees, Jesse Walton, and Ayla Volmer. Ella was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Wesley Walton.
Ella's life will be celebrated on February 18, 2026, at 7:00 PM at Rowntree Gardens. Family, friends, and individuals whose lives were touched by Ella are invited to remember her life and share their memories of her.
Born an educator, Ella graduated with a B.A. in Education from Southwestern University, Georgetown, TX in 1950 and married her soulmate John Wesley Walton in the same year. After a gratifying career spanning almost four decades, she retired from the Goose Creek School System in 1987 and chose to spend her retirement in the peaceful community of Seal Beach, CA.
Always passionate about community service, Ella was an active Volunteer at Golden Rain Foundation and the Los Alamitos Hospital Board. She had an adoration for music, particularly the works of Handel and Van Cliburn and loved watching Opera performances. Not just a patron of the arts, Ella was also a creative soul, known for her up-cycled greeting cards.
With a spirit as active as her mind, Ella enjoyed exercise, especially when it came in the form of scenic bicycle rides with her Leisure World bike group. She will be remembered as a vibrant, loving, and caring individual who brought joy and warmth to the people around her.
While we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the love, wisdom, and kindness she imparted on those fortunate enough to have known her. She has left a remarkable legacy, and her memory will continue to inspire us. Rest in peace, Ella.
