Beth's obituary

Elizabeth Susan "Beth" Schindler-Dalland, 60, passed away on March 5, 2025, in Attleboro, Massachusetts after a two year battle with Lewy Body Dementia.

Beth was born on April 16, 1964, in Albany, New York. She pursued her passion for early childhood education by earning an associate degree from Duchess Community College in Poughkeepsie, NY. Her career began as a family advocate at Head Start in Greene County, NY, where she worked to support children and families. Later, she transitioned into labor advocacy, serving for 14 years as a union safety representative for IUE-CWA at General Electric in Schenectady, NY. During her tenure there, she made a lasting impact by creating the first union women's committee for IUE-CWA at GE, demonstrating her commitment to workplace equity and safety.

Beth was known for her caring and generous spirit. She was kind-hearted and empathetic, always willing to lend a hand or offer words of encouragement. Her creativity shone through in many aspects of her life, whether in her work or personal pursuits. She found joy in the outdoors and had a deep love for gardening. Walking with her beloved dogs brought her peace and happiness.

Above all else, Beth was a devoted wife and mother. She shared a loving partnership with her husband, Jan Dalland. She was an adoring and dedicated mother to her three children: Courtney Souza and her husband Michael of Raynham, MA; Hannah Brandow and her fiancé Dan Quickenton of Valatie, NY; and Kurt Brandow of Crofton, MD. She also leaves behind her mother Louise Schindler and her partner Ken Hensley of Pooler, GA; her brother Kurt Schindler of Alpharetta, GA; and two nieces, Isabella Schindler of Florida and Sydney Schindler of Georgia. She was predeceased by her father, Edward Schindler of Hudson, NY.

Beth’s warmth and kindness touched many lives. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
