Beth's obituary

Elizabeth Leah "Beth" Prado, while surrounded by her family, passed away on October 31st, 2023,  after an 8 month battle with lung cancer,  Beth was born to Joe and Chris Prado on March 06, 1979 in Baltimore, MD.   Beth attended Georgetown University, earning her undergraduate and Masters Degrees. She attended Lancaster University in England where she earned her PhD.  Beth developed a passion for research, studying the correlation between child development and early access to healthy nutrition.  Her first research project was on the island of Lombok, Indonesia as a Fulbright scholar.   Her family was quite happy to visit her there on that beautiful island!  Beth also participated in other major projects in Malawi, Burkina Faso, and Ghana. Beth joined the University of California  Davis Department of Nutrition as a postdoc in 2010. At her passing, Beth was an associate Professor in that same department.  She loved her work, unashamedly calling herself a data nerd.

Beth was passionate about sharing the love of our Lord with others. From a very young age, Beth prioritized participation in a faith community, first at Grace Fellowship Church in Baltimore, then Capital Hill Baptist Church in DC, Morelands Church in Lancaster, England and lastly, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Sacramento.  A loyal servant of God, Beth was dedicated to playing worship music, loving and feeding her friends, and building community wherever she went.
Now that Beth has passed into the arms of our Lord, her physical life on earth is over but it is the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her.

Beth joins her four  grandparents and two cousins in heaven. She is survived by  her parents Chris and Joe Prado and her sister and brother-in-law Michelle and Ben Harris and nephew and nieces Will Asher, Lily Elizabeth, and Noa Grace Harris.  John 11:25-26 "Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die."
