Elizabeth's obituary
Elizabeth Polk-Mitchell gained her angel wings on August 25, 2024, at her home in Iowa City, IA. Elizabeth was 67 years old.
Elizabeth's life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time which she stayed here.
Elizabeth was talented and adventurous in many aspects of her life. She was a master of swimming, cooking, hair, sewing, and knowing how to make you laugh and feel welcome. She was always helping those in need the best way she possibly could. Whenever Elizabeth wasn't spending time with her loved ones, she could be found giving God praise in the pews of the church, in her community assisting in the feeding of the homeless or going for a swim at the local YMCA during the summers. There was not a day that went by where Elizabeth didn't talk about how much her children and family meant to her -- her family was definitely her most important achievement in life.
