Beth's obituary

Elizabeth (Beth) Langford was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away suddenly due to heart complications at the age of 73.

She was born to Mel and Marge Finney and had one sister, Cindy, and four brothers, Ray, Larry (pre- deceased), Len and Ed. She spent most of her life in 100 Mile House where she met the love of her life and husband Jack (pre-deceased). They had two sons, John (Corinne) and Chad (Crystal). She was an incredibly loving and generous mother, and loved to tell her boys how proud she was of them. She was adored by her grandchildren Carter, Allie, Ethan, Lily, Wyatt and Rylee, and took every chance

she had to tell everyone how “perfect” her grandchildren were.

Beth was an alcohol and drug counsellor for most of her working days. Her family is always humbled to hear, even years later, about the lives she changed. This caring nature is what inspired her most recently to volunteer with the 100 Mile District Hospice Palliative Care Society.

She enjoyed living in the Cariboo and was always very active in the community. Some of her greatest memories were snowmobiling with Jack, her boys and family friends. In recent years, she was known to be as equally skilled with making cookies as she was with the sport of knife throwing (indeed a sight to behold). She enjoyed going to events around town - especially with her grandkids. She was a gifted storyteller, and loved to share adventures from her travels to Europe, Australia, Churchill, the East Coast, and sailing on the West Coast and the Caribbean.

Her creative side was displayed through the stained glass pieces that she made. She often sold out at craft fairs and those who received pieces from her can attest to how beautiful her work was.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She lived a very meaningful life on her terms, and placed high value on creating memories and enjoying every moment. She would tell everybody reading this to have their cake and eat it too!
