Elizabeth's obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Hulse, who passed away peacefully on December 4, 2022. Born on June 29, 1939, Elizabeth led a life full of curiosity, dedication, and kindness, leaving a profound impact on all those who knew her.
Elizabeth was an intelligent woman with an insatiable curiosity, which led her to become a life-long learner. Her organized and diligent nature empowered her to excel in all her personal and professional pursuits. With a heart full of care and kindness, Elizabeth's warm presence was felt by all who called her family and friend.
Elizabeth is survived by her sister and brother, Helen Fox and Hugh Hulse, and her beloved nieces and nephews, Julie Anne Fox, Rolf Colin Fox, and Remy Owen Fox. She also leaves behind her cherished great-nieces, Alice and Ivy Fox Lundy, who will fondly remember their times spent together. Elizabeth's legacy of love and dedication will live on through her dear family. She was predeceased by her sister, Barbara Hulse; her mother, Ethelwyn (Holland) Hulse; her father, Joseph Seeley Hulse; and her infant sisters, Naomi and Allison.
In this time of mourning, we come together to celebrate Elizabeth's life and the wonderful memories we shared with her. As we remember her unwavering kindness, commitment to learning, and compassionate nature. A Celebration of Life for Elizabeth will be held on May 6, 2023, at 10:30 AM at the Chapel of St. James-the-Less.
Elizabeth was passionate about knitting, embroidery, reading, sewing, and felting. As an accomplished historian, writer, and editor, she published numerous books, articles, and papers throughout her life, contributing significantly to various important projects. Elizabeth's love for art and culture was evident in everything she did, and she continually encouraged those around her to never stop learning.
Elizabeth's remarkable legacy will live on through her family, friends, and the countless lives she touched with her gentle spirit and wise words. She will be deeply missed, but her lessons and memories will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
