Elizabeth's obituary
Elizabeth “Beth” Erin Bowers Desmond entered into Glory on Wednesday June 11th, 2025, at her home in Covington, Louisiana. Beth was a true example of God's love and grace. Born on August 16, 1977, in New Orleans, Louisiana, she left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Beth loved life and fellowship, and especially being involved in Children’s Ministry. Throughout her life, Beth and her family were members of Bible Tabernacle in Bridge City, Louisiana as well as Mandeville Christian Fellowship, Northlake Assembly of God, Cornerstone Assembly of God, Manghan Assembly of God, Lafitte Miracle Assembly, and Northshore Worship Center.
Beth always found strength and guidance in her faith. Her favorite scriptures was Jeremiah 29:11- “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Beth had a way of making anyone feel as if they were the best part of her life. No strangers existed to her, only those who would receive a warm embrace and a big smile to make them feel as if they had always been apart of the family.
Beth is survived by her loving husband, Joseph T. Desmond Jr., with whom she shared 25 wonderful years. She is also survived by her daughters, Joanne Renae Desmond and Rebekah Cathileen Desmond; her mother Cathy Esta Bowers; her sisters, Melissa B. Debuiguy (Art) along with her children, Luke and Cara; and Jenny B. Hinkle (Dustin) and her children, Hannah-Grace, Asher, and Nathan. Beth's memory will also be cherished by her mother-in-law, JoAnn B. Desmond, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Beth was preceded in death by her father, Aaron A. Bowers Jr.; her sister, Mindy C. Bowers; her brother Aaron A. Bowers III; her grandparents, Norman A. Esta, Shirley Mathorne Esta, Aaron A. Bowers Sr., Roberta W. Bowers Nuzzo, and Roy J. Nuzzo; and her father-in-law, Joseph D. Desmond Sr.
A service to celebrate Beth's life will be held at Mandeville Christian Fellowship, located at 1211 LA-1088, Mandeville, LA 70448, on Saturday, June 28th, 2025. Fellowship will begin at 10:00 am, followed by the service at 11:00 am. Pastor David Bankston will be officiating.
