Elizabeth Blauer Brooks
Background
Elizabeth Brooks helped to set up this fund in honor of her "Aunt Kate", Katherine R. Smith. Miss Smith spent 48yrs, beginning in 1891, teaching in central CA. The last few yrs were as a principal. There is an elementary school named after her. Liz Brooks took after her Aunt Kate in pursuit and dedication to teaching. This scholarship is for students in Silver Creek High School who are going to pursue teaching. It is also the legacy of K.R. Smith and now Elizabeth B. Brooks, both life long educators. Also, both lived to be 103 years old.
