A donation in honor of Elizab…
2023, Minneapolis Institute of Arts
A donation in honor of Elizabeth Brekke, to celebrate our shared love of the annual Art in Bloom exhibit.
When I worked with Liz at Lakewood Conferences, she was a fun, wonderfully competent and totally lovable colleague. Her wonderful sense of humor carried the day.

The sparkle in Liz Brekke’s eye will be missed. Can it be 65 years ago that we met? Such fun going to Tofte with Liz and her dad in high school and rediscovering her generous warmth, intelligence, and humor as we approached retirement.

What a force! So smart….so funny….so caring….such a good friend and colleague. She lived her life so fully. A role model for all of us. ❤️

Liz was a friend when I represented Search Institute as a trainer.  She brought talent, passion, and a sense of humor to her position there.  Her presence brightened the world.  What a special person!
So sad to hear of Liz’s passing. She was a very special lady and I counted her as a friend. Blessings to your family as you heal.
Liz & I lived on 27th Av for a year. I was 18 and she was 25.  I named my first daughter Hannah Elizabeth after Liz. A very caring, sensitive person.

Matron of honor at my wedding
Liz and I taught school together, we became close friends and I was her matron of honor.  She was such a terrific, smart, caring friend.
Liz and I were good friends during our teen years. We attended the same church and had some great adventures with church friends. We created our new name-DEWB BLAT. That’s a long story! I remember visiting the family cabin in Tofte, and loving the beauty of Lake Superior. We lost touch of each other for many years, but when our 50th High School reunions were being planned (Liz graduated from Hopkins HS and I from Wayzata) I was given her contact information. We were reconnected! It was as though those 50 years had never separated us. I’m saddened by her death, but will always hold memories of her in my heart.

We had the great privilege to work with Liz during her tenure at Search Institute. Her generous spirit, caring presence, and god humor were hallmarks of our interactions. More recently, we enjoyed seeing her beautiful posts on social media of her love of nature. She was a wise and gentle soul. Holding her family close at this time of loss.
