Elizabeth "Betsy"'s obituary

Elizabeth "Betsy" Ann Santandreu passed away on October 9, 2019 at the age of 88.

Betsy is survived by her children Paul (Susan) Santandreu, Aileen (Michael) Sabin, and her grandchildren Allison Sabin, Brian Sabin, Peter Santandreu, Elizabeth (Michael) Buenacosa, Martha Santandreu, Grace Santandreu, and Benjamin (Maggie) Santandreu. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Ramon Santandreu and her son Steven Ramon Santandreu of Norfolk, Massachusetts.

Betsy was born on April 11, 1931 at home in Malverne, New York. She married her husband on May 18, 1958. Over the forty-six years of their marriage, they welcomed three children and seven grandchildren into their home. Betsy was very active in the communities in which she lived. She helped with scouting, church events, volunteered to read in elementary schools, and worked to help her local libraries and senior centers. After the death of her husband, she moved into the Overlook community in Charlton, Massachusetts where she was enthusiastically involved in programs there for eleven years. Betsy will be remembered for her love of quilting, camping, traveling, and celebrating life’s moments with family.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for 11:00AM at the Overlook Chapel (88 Masonic Home Road Charlton, MA) with a lunch to follow. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the charity of your choice in her name.
