Elizabeth's obituary

On June 7, 2025, Elsie Elizabeth “Liz” Barrow Allen went home to be with our Lord. She will be known for her strength, sense of humor, intelligence, and independence. She passed away quietly in Picayune, Mississippi. She was 86 years old and was born on January 14, 1939, in Memphis, Tennessee. Liz considered Southeast Louisiana her home and spent most of her life there.

She was a hard worker who believed in doing things the right way. She provided her children with a good moral foundation and the value of hard work and determination. She had an honest, straight forward nature that earned the respect of those around her. She was well loved by many and built lasting and loving friendships.

Liz loved to travel. She enjoyed cruises and vacations. She took as many opportunities as she could to see new places and have new experiences.

Liz took great pride in her family. She is survived by her three daughters: Dana Wolf, Patricia Bragg (married to Michael), and Debbie Lewis (married to Darren); her grandchildren: Chelsea Lockhart (married to Daniel), Christine Bragg, Sarah Dye (married to Cody), Joseph Campbell (married to Frankie), Dylan Lewis (married to Sherry), Brian Lewis, and Keegan Lewis; and her great-grandchildren: Odin and Ransom Dye, and Percy and Amelia Lewis.

She will be welcomed in heaven by her brother, Marcus Barrow; her sister, Willodene Barrow Smith; and her parents, Mamie and Mark Barrow.

A private family service will be held to honor her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, a cause that was very close to Liz’s heart and to those she loved.
