To Jack and all the members of the Barden Family:

My wife, Kathleen, and I wish to express our sincere condolences on the passing of your wife Betty.  She was always such a kind and friendly lady.

I first met Jack at the FLEO Center in Glynco, GA in 1977.  Jack and I and shortly thereafter, Betty, became fast friends.  Our careers interlocked.  We stayed at each other's homes over the course of time.  Kathleen and I saw firsthand how Betty cared and looked after Jack following his stroke.  She was his source of care and support. May she now find herself in the hands of God and look down on Jack and all her family members from the heavens above.  May she rest in peace.

To Jack and family - for over 60 years we have valued your friendship. We know what a rock of support she was to you over those years. We will always remember the lunches at Ashby Ponds and the 50 year wedding anniversary party. Betty was a wonderful person and always made us feel so welcome.

Betty was among the first people we met when we moved to MD in 1986.  We were neighbors and, along with our husbands, became close friends.  Our kids are close in age to Doug and Kendra and we all shared many fun times, holiday meals and lots of laughter.  Through the years and their moves, we managed to visit whenever we could and always enjoyed catching up with them.

Betty was a phenomenal teacher, parent and caregiver and a very loyal friend.  She will be missed by a wide circle of friends because she touched everyone with her kindness and generosity.

Betty was our dear friend for five decades.  It was an honor to have her in our lives and she will be sorely missed.
Jack and Betty were our neighbors in Goochland. Betty took such wonderful care of Jack and she was such a special person. She will be missed by all.

I met Betty while dating her son, Doug in Salt Lake City.

She was the sweetest, warmest most welcoming person I had ever met. She was always thinking of others needs while having fun along the way.

I have fun memories of singing songs, cooking, traveling with her to Lake Powell, Utah and Virginia.

May she rest in peace and fly high with the angels

Love and prayers to the whole family

Sincerely,

Aimee
