Elizabeth Ann “Annie” Downey-Stahl, age 42, of Kankakee passed away Sunday, May 11, 2025 at Prime St. Mary’s Hospital in Kankakee. She was born July 25, 1982 in Chicago, the daughter of Robert & Susan (Olson) Downey. Annie married James “Jim” Stahl on April 1, 2022.

Annie was a bus monitor and a jack of all trades. Her largest achievement was being a mother. Everyone she met was thought of as a friend or family. She was loved by many, missed by all. As she would often say, “Welcome to the day!”

Surviving are her husband, Jim Stahl of Kankakee; two sons, Leland Easter and Hunter Easter, both of Kankakee; two daughters, Alyssa & Taygan Erickson and Amanda Blanchette, all of Bourbonnais; four sisters, Kimberly & Brian Hippman of St. Anne, Jennifer & Brian Killian of Romeoville, Tracy Downey of KY, and Aslinn & Alex Hughes of AR; two brothers, Robert Downey Jr. of St. Anne and Steve & Ailyn Hughes of AR; Sandra Kay Hughes; Duwayne Hughes; many nieces and nephews; and many cousins, aunts, and uncles. Annie was preceded in death by her parents; aunt, Cathy Ricobene; and cousin, Carl Downey.

Cremation rites have been accorded.
