Lizzie's obituary
Our family is saddened to annouce the passing of Elizabeth "Lizzie" Amen.
Lizzie, a resident of Rock Hall, MD, was born on June 16, 1956 to Anthony & Maria Amen of Overbrook, Pennslyvania. Her playful soul left us on December 29, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents "Zip" & "Betty" sister "Kat" as well as her "marriage" to Edward Maloney, the father of her children.
She'll be ever loved by her constant companion, her daughters bonus dad, her beau, her soulmate and everlasting sparring partner for the better part of 30 years, Joseph McAndrews, pray for him as his life has got a lot quieter, a lot emptier.
Left to share memories are her daughter’s Danielle (Tony) De Ieso, Heather Maloney, Cyndi (Donnie) Lawson & Amy (Justin) Maloney. Grand-children Michael, Nicoletta, Jordan, Donnie, Dominic, Tessa, Brian, Conner, Carter & great grand-daughter Emery.
She was sister to Anna, Bo, Kathleen & Phillip; leaving many nieces and nephews with crazy "Aunt Lizzie" stories to share, as well as her friend for life Kathy Schalalbeo.
As a family we take comfort in knowing her forever friend “Missy” was there to welcome her for their final sunset walk, crossing over the Rainbow Bridge together.
Relatives and friends are asked to join the family for a Memorial Service (no recieving line) to be held at St. Anthony of Padua church 901 N Dupont St, Wilmington, DE 19805 on Saturday January 14th at 12:30 PM followed by a celebration of life.
In lieu of flowers we ask that you show gratitude to the nursing staff at The University of Maryland Medical Center (Weinberg 5C) Baltimore. The care, along with unwavering compassion shown for Liz & Joe was immeasurable. We were truly blessed to have had them during this difficult time.
