Eliza's obituary
Eliza, known formally as Elizabeth Bonnie Lass Lin Manuel Miranda Pipo Train (but answering primarily to “Eliza,” has peacefully passed on after a long, valiant, and frankly overachieving battle with asthma, epilepsy, eyelid inversion, and stage 4 kidney failure. Truly, she collected diagnoses the way others collect hobbies.
Despite these challenges, Eliza remained the very definition of light, fun, and just a little bit chaotic. She brought joy, sass, and an impressive level of resilience to all who had the privilege of knowing her—or being judged silently by her.
She would like to extend her deepest gratitude to all of her mommy’s friends, especially those who visited and provided pets, attention, and the kind of energy that only comes from a good drink and a willingness to sit wherever the cat has already claimed. Your service did not go unnoticed.
Eliza has asked that no one be sad. Instead, she would prefer you remember her fondly: zooming unexpectedly, demanding affection at inconvenient times, and living her life with unapologetic flair. She would also like it formally noted that she is not sorry for any of the times she pooped on the floor. Not one. Not even a little.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and slightly questionable behavior, and she will be deeply missed by her mommy and all who knew her.
In lieu of sadness, please honor Eliza by giving a cat an extra pet, embracing a moment of chaos, or confidently refusing to apologize when you know you’re in the right.
Rest easy, Eliza. You were ridiculous, resilient, and completely unforgettable.
