How you can help

In Loving Memory of Elijah G. Colvin

Elijah G. Colvin, beloved and cherished son of Mark A.Colvin of Modesto, Ca, was born on September 14, 2008, and was called home into God’s loving arms on Friday, January 30, due to complications from a routine medical procedure. As many of you know Elijah was Mark's entire world. As you can imagine this is a heart wrenching time and we accept all prayers and condolences sent his way. Though his time on this earth was far too brief, Elijah’s life was rich with love, laughter, and purpose.

Elijah was a junior at Beyer High School and played six seasons of baseball with Bell Passi, played soccer and loved all sports. He was a snowboarder, loved mountain camping, rode motorbikes and enjoyed swimming during the summers. He spent every summer for the past 12 years at the beach house with his friends. An avid gamer, he formed meaningful friendships across the western United States. Known for his gentle heart, easygoing nature, and loving spirit, Elijah had a wide circle of friends and was deeply cherished by his large extended family throughout Central California. In his 17 years, he traveled to more than 30 states, touching countless lives along the way.

This memorial donation fund has been created to honor Elijah’s life and legacy. The goal of $50,000 will help cover memorial and service expenses, allowing the family to focus on healing and remembrance during this unimaginable loss. If the goal is reached, additional funds will be used to establish a scholarship in Elijah’s name, ensuring his kindness, generosity, and bright spirit continue to bless others for years to come.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 12, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow on Friday, February 13, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church a reception will follow immediately after the service. In honor of Elijah’s favorite color, friends and loved ones are invited to wear a touch of red—as a celebration of his vibrant life and enduring spirit.

Your gift—no matter the size—is an act of love and remembrance. It is a way to stand with Elijah’s family, to honor his life, and to help transform profound loss into lasting hope. Thank you for keeping Elijah’s memory alive through your kindness, prayers, and generosity.

With gratitude and love,
