Elido's obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Mr. Elido Baso, born on November 24, 1922, and departed from us on November 16, 2023. A loving father, caring grandfather, and loyal friend, Elido leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will forever be cherished.
He is survived by his daughter, Regine Thornton, and his grandchildren, Samantha Kim, Brian Snead, Danielle Wilfert, and Marcus Baso. He also leaves behind his cousin, Susie Fernandez Plowman. His family fondly remembers him as a pillar of strength, nurturing love, and unwavering support.
Elido’s story is one of love and dedication. In 1945, during World War II, he met his beloved wife in France, marking the beginning of a timeless love story. Besides being a devoted family man, Elido was also known for his endearing hobbies. His joy could be found while fishing, dancing, and playing the spoons. His passion for life was evident in his daily walks within the park, a pastime he thoroughly enjoyed.
His love for travel was immense, with Key West and France being his all-time favorite vacation spots. He held a special affinity for France, not just for its serene beauty but due to a significant milestone in his life. Elido was a World War II veteran, an achievement that he held in high regard. Post the war, he further pursued his interest in culinary arts and attained a degree from Le Cordon Bleu in France. This not only added a feather to his cap but also ensured delightful gatherings filled with delicacies around the family dining table.
Elido was a man of many accomplishments, but his most endearing trait was his loving and caring nature. His life will continue to inspire and his memory will live on in our hearts. As we mourn the loss of this great man, let us not forget to celebrate the extraordinary life he led. Farewell, Elido. You will deeply be missed.
He is also survived by his Great Grandchilden: Brandon Parker, Savannah, Parker, Devin Snead, Taylor Wilfert, Mikayla Wilfert, Ryder Wilfert, Sloane Baso. Great Great Grandchildren: Drew Worden, Layla Worden and Marceline Parker.
Also survived by his Grandson in-law Tae Kim, Granddaughter in-law April Snead, and Richard Wilfert Grandson in-law.
