Eleanore's obituary

Eleanore “Ellie” Frances Schaid, age 81, of Pike Road, Alabama, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025.

Ellie was born on October 6, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, to Frank and Katherine Connor. She built a life centered on family, dedication, and quiet strength, touching the lives of all who knew her.

For decades, Ellie was a dedicated bookkeeper with the J. Harold Mitchell Company, where she was known for her reliability, precision, and strong work ethic. After retiring, she devoted her time to what mattered most to her—her family.

Above all else, Ellie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She found her greatest joy in caring for those she loved, gathering family around the table, and creating memories through her love of cooking, traveling, and attending tea parties with her family—moments she especially treasured. Her home was always a place of warmth, comfort, and unconditional love.

She is survived by her children, Craig Schaid (Donna) and Jeff Schaid (Alita), as well as Sergio Calvo (Jennifer), whom she raised and loved as her own.

She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Ashley Waldrop (Drew), September Yandle (Thomas), Jacob Schaid (Haruka), Ella Grace Schaid, Brandon Householder (Corbin), Nikki Householder (Dennis Harris), and Annika St. Clair.

Ellie was blessed with a growing family of great-grandchildren: Ethan Waldrop, Benjamen Waldrop, Samuel Waldrop, Emmalyn Grate, Asher Schaid, Ollie Householder, Haisley Harris, Kaylee Householder, and Baby Schaid on the way, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.

She is also survived by her sister, Arlene Patton, as well as her dear friends, Wendi and TJ Wallace, who held a special place in her heart.

Ellie was preceded in death by her father, Frank Connor; her mother, Katherine Connor; and her brother, David Connor.

A memorial service to celebrate Ellie’s life will be held on January 9, 2026, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. A lunch at the church will follow the service, and all are welcome to attend.

Her legacy of love, devotion, and family will live on through the many generations she nurtured and cherished. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
