Eleanor's obituary
Our dear Eleanor "Ellie" Lizut, born on December 23, 1963,left this world peacefully on January 3, 2026. She was a woman known for her genuine humility, helpfulness, kindness, silliness, and loyalty.
She is survived by her daughter, Natasha Short, her son, Timothy Stewart, and her beloved grandchildren, Jayme and Maddie Short, and Crosby Bryant. Eleanor was predeceased by her father, Frank Lizut, her mother, Francis Hellyer, and her sisters, Maryjane Lizut, Kathy Williams, and Susan Moffit.
Ellie delighted in simple pleasures. She loved to indulge in her favorite foods including steak, pizza, hamburgers, potato chips and chocolate, often accompanied by her much-loved coffee or soda. Reading was a favorite pastime and the Bible was her favorite book. She loved music and enjoyed listening to many of her favorites including CCR, the Beatles, Christian Rock and Oldies she even spent some time volunteering at PowerFM, the local Christian rock station.
Ellie was a big fan of her home state, Pennsylvania and was always cheering for her teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Flyers. She enjoyed spending her free time reading the Bible, watching movies, going to church, and spending time with family and friends.
She loved all animals, especially cats, which led to her volunteering at Insync Exotics' Big Cat Sanctuary.
Ellie loved the beach and boardwalk. She loved everything French, and tried to teach herself how to speak the language. Her favorite color was black. She loved Christmas.
She leaves behind a powerful legacy in her family and lives on in their hearts. The best lesson she had to share was simple, but profoundly impactful: "Be Kind." This beautifully captures Eleanor's approach to life.
Eleanor's spirit will always be remembered by those who had the luck to meet her, the joy to know her, the pleasure to call her friend, and the honor to call her family. She will be deeply missed.
